Great, interesting book for adult learners

I have used this book for adult literacy tutoring and my students have enjoyed it. These well-written stories describe individuals who have overcome tremendous odds. Each story is unique--everyday people with all sorts of challenges such as drug abuse, language, dyslexia, and so on are profiled in realistic ways. The questions after each story are good indicators of comprehension, and the writing exercises are also very helpful. Excellent book.

NOT THE BOOK DESCRIBED!

Beware that the book you get is NOT the one described!!! The Table of Contents shown in "Click to Look Inside" lists 20 stories. The version received has only 13!! Under "" it says "169 pages" and publication date 1996. This ABBREVIATED version is 148 pages, published 2010.
