A fun introduction to self reallization

This is one of my all time favourite books. While I am not a big fan of other Deepak Chopra other books I love this one. It is a grate fun and thought provoking way of seeing reality from the perspective of self as if your true self could have a open conversation with you on explaining your true nature in a magical context of King Arthur and Merlin. If I had children which I don't, this would be the book I would read to them at night.
I had been around the spiritual circuit for many years reading all the usual self awareness books sometimes coming across a book written buy a person who in my opinion has obtain spiritual enlightment, true self awareness from St Germain to all the indian guru masters which now a days is all I read. But I still go back to this book and have read it 20 or 30 times for me in the begging it helped me understand how to reconise a true masters voice aswell as understanding that it is obtainable for a every day person.

I have always admired Deepak Chopra, and this book has become one of my favorites. Mixing wisdom from the ancients with daily activities in our current time, this book makes the lessons visible, understandable, and applicable to our lives in the 21st century. It is easy to be distracted from basic truths and soul wisdom in a society that seeks to distract us from our core, but this little book helps to put things in their proper place. I think it's a good read for anyone who likes to look beyond the obvious, and seeks to know on a level that is not tied in to any particular time or place, but is both timeless and boundless.

Practice makes perfect

I wanted to leave a review to say thanks to the authors. This book is exactly what I needed and is one of the best purchases I have made in my networking career. I passed the CCNA one year ago and I am continuously trying to a clearer understanding of Cisco networking and more skilled in my career. For me the repetition in this book is great for practicing and learning new concepts along the way. All of the other Cisco networking books I have read were focused on concepts (and rightfully so) along with one lab for each topic (for me that was never enough). I plan to pursue the CCNP but before I go down that road I wanted to make sure I have solid understanding of CCNA level material, this book definitely helped. I have purchased the authors CCNP ROUTE and recently released 101 CCNP Labs book and have been very pleased with the material I have glanced at. Nothing comes for 10 bucks in Cisco networking, except this book. BUY IT.

Excellent lab book but with a few typos

While studying for your CCNA, there comes a time where you need to get some hands on with equipment. Some prefer live equipment, others simulators or rack rental time. Whatever path you choose, you'll definitely want to invest in this book!

I took the self-study route and have invested in a few routers and a couple switches but wanted a solid lab book that would help me prepare for my exam. There are plenty of free materials online but I wanted a hard copy that I could take with me and accidentally stumbled upon this book. [...] While shipping took a little longer than expected, I was pleasantly surprised when it finally arrived.

The labs are completed on modest equipment and, at the most, with 3 to 4 routers and a couple switches. The labs start off with the basics: vlans, STP, etc. then naturally progress to more advanced topics. There are a couple labs which, while not directly related to the exam, shed light on areas of IOS that I never knew existed. Learning how to create macros and alias commands are a couple tidbits that I was excited to learn about. Also, the book helped expand my knowledge of IOS and the use of subinterfaces and loopback interfaces to mimic extra subnets. The authors use of different routing protocols on multiple subinterfaces gave me another perspective on how much can be accomplished with just a couple routers and a single cable!

I've made my way through the first 60 labs and will continue them until I've completed them all. I know that I will be well prepared come test day thanks to the guidance of this book. I would like to point out that there are a few grammatical errors and instances where the diagrams used in a given lab are not 100% correct. If you've come this far along in your studies, you should be able to spot them and make the necessary changes on the fly. Even with a few minor blemishes, this book shines bright. If you're in the market for a lab book that will test your knowledge, please give this book a try.

The labs and the lab solutions are in different sections of the Kindle book. So to check your work, or follow the guided part of the lab you have to go to Table Of Contents, then search for the lab solution that corresponds with the lab you are working on (and the solutions are only listed by lab number in the table of contents, not title, like the labs . . . ). The economics of payments is a multi-disciplinary field, taking in branches of economics such as monetary theory, search theory, game theory and industrial organisation. It also draws on techniques from network theory and makes extensive use of simulation studies to model complex interactions between payment system members. For each of the topics covered, this volume highlights some of the most influential works in the literature. The volume also draws heavily on empirical insights, in
particular offering an historical context to central banks' involvement in payment systems.

About the Author

Mark Manning joined the Financial Stability Directorate of the Bank of England in 2002, after several years working as a fund manager in the City of London. Since joining the Bank, Mark has specialised in policy and research in payments, clearing and settlement, co-authoring several research papers and articles in this area and participating in various international policy and working groups. Mark is currently on secondment from the Bank of England at the Reserve Bank of Australia, where he heads the Payments System Stability section of the Payments Policy Department. Mark holds Masters degrees in Economics and Finance, from University College London and London Business School, respectively. Dr Erlend Nier holds a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics. He joined the Bank of England in 2001 and held a position as Research Manager in the Bank's Financial Stability Directorate. During his time at the Bank, Erlend Nier has led research and policy work on a range of financial stability issues, including capital and liquidity standards for banking firms, payment system design, and linkages between financial stability and monetary operations. Erlend Nier's current position is as Senior Financial Sector Expert with the IMF's Monetary and Capital Market's Department, on secondment from the Bank of England.
Dr Jochen Schanz holds a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute. He has worked as an economist for an investment bank before joining the Bank of England as an economist in 2005. During his time at the Bank, he has worked on market infrastructure questions, focussing on the link between system design, banks' short-term liquidity management, and systemic risk. His interests include regulation of financial markets and governance of firms providing infrastructure services.

One of the Best 2nd Edition Products Back in Print

If you are like me you have worn out your Monstrous Manual from 1995. This is a very well done reprint by WOTC that is well worth picking up.

The cover has a green "fake leather" cover with gold lettering and some embossed areas. It looks much like the 1st edition reprints that came out last year. Very well done.

The binding looks sturdy and capable of withstanding many years of gaming.

The interior has golden brown flyleaves. The text and art work is very crisp. I was worried that the art work would be blurred like the 1st edition reprints but that is not the case here. I was surprised how nice it looked. The paper has a nice thick feel to it (more so than the original).

I have not checked extensively but it appears that the text was updated to fix some errata from the 'black book' version reprint.

I recommend picking up a copy of the book if your old one is looking worn or maybe just to slide onto the shelf next to the original. It is great to see 2nd Edition back in print.

For those stuck in the past orplagued with nostalgia

AD&D 2nd edition is far from the best iternation of the game in my opinion. It was also my first introduction to the game and it will always have a special place in my heart. I fondly recall adventuring through the various 2nd edition box sets of the 80s and 90s and when I saw these premium rereleases for sale I couldn't help but purchase them.

As fickle as D&D fans can be, I should point out one very important caveat: These are not reprints of the original 2nd edition books. These are based on the revised releases from the early 90s. That being said, they are still a great addition for any collection and demonstrate the transitional stages from Gygax's AD&D to the WotC published 3rd edition.

A must for any collector or nostalgia ridden sucker, such as myself.

I was amazed at the quality of the book when it arrived. Not only is the outside of it beautiful, but the artwork inside is much more crisp than it uses to be.

As far as monster manuals go this is one of the best. The ammount of monsters is great and the stat blocks are easy to read.

About the Author

David Gouverneur was National Director of Urban Planning for the Ministry of Urban Development of Venezuela and co-founder of the Urban Design Program and Director of the Mayor’s Institute in City Design at Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas. He has 33 years' experience�of teaching Architecture, Urban Design and City Planning. His professional practice focuses on urban plans for distressed neighbourhoods, upgrading informal settlements, historic districts, new centralities and areas affected by disaster. He is currently Associate Professor in Practice of the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania, teaching Landscape Urbanism Studios, Cross-disciplinary Design Studios, and Electives, with an emphasis on developing countries.

Very good theoretical framework.

Very good theoretical framework, but theory relies too heavily on government rather than private sector initiative. The problem of informal settlements is usually the result of lack of public initiative, which I thought the book would address via an approach that can be taken by private developer's.
