Jane was a sweet person ♥

I felt really sorry for Jane when she was a child living with her stepmother and three kids. They were so horrible to her, they hit her, verbally abused her, they just sucked as people!

When Jane was so down and seemed to me to have a little bit of a mental breakdown from all that was done to her, a nice man came to visit her and see that she was okay. Mr. Lloyd asked Jane many things and one of them was about her wanting to go to school. These string of questions and kindness from Mr. Lloyd led Jane to be placed in the Lowood school for charity cases. Jane learned so many things from the school. When she first got there though, the school was run by some prickly people that over time either didn't bother her, or they went away. The overseer of the school, a Mr. Brocklehurst, was a complete •ss to the girls. I despised him. He would come in spouting stuff about God not liking girls with curls or braids and they could never dress up (not that they had means to do this). He was just a horrid man, he made them get all of their hair cut. Please dude, God doesn't care what girls do with their hair but you should be worrying about where your going to spend eternity!

Jane had a wonderful friend named Helen Burn and it broke my heart when she died. A lot of the girls died when the disease came through. The only thing good that came out of this was that some people started paying attention to the school and made sure they started feeding the children right and did good by them.

Jane ending up teaching some of the younger girls when she was eighteen until she procured a job teaching a young girl named Adele at Thornfield Hall. I enjoyed reading about Jane's time there even though it went off the rails a little bit when she found out some things about the owner of the house. Mr. Rochester seemed to be a strange man to me, but him and Jane fell in love. They were to be wed... but some stuff got in the way. Some really strange and sad stuff.

Jane ended up going away for awhile and was helping out St. John in ministry. Some stuff happened with him and Jane is off again. She comes back to Thornfield Hall and finds out the misery that befell the place.

Jane did reunite with some old friends and loves lost. It was a sweet, if not a little, sad of an ending.

Jane Eyre is a wonderfully written novel. You are invited into her world as she sees it thru her eyes. An unloved orphan in a house of wealth treated like cinderella..to some extent. Sent away to an orphange. Her first encounter receiving love is bittersweet as death swoops in once again. Years go by and she finds a position in Mr. Rochesters home. Such a burley and grumpy master...another tortured soul. Love blooms and then is stolen away. She runs. She finds family. Is offered a position in India but the propsect of love is not part of the deal. She can no longer live in a loveless world. She backtracks in search of any scrap of information for the man that brought loce into her world. It seems death has once again swooped in to torture her again. Was death successful? Or can love lift itself from the ashes?? You will have to read it for yourself. I love Jane Eyre!!

A good book- but something was missing.

This book was full of big literary words and complex descriptions. One could really learn something about writing from reading this book. The actual storyline is another thing, however.
I had great heart for the love story in the beginning of this book. It was captivating and interesting, though I felt like it had been undermined in detail and voice. It ended abruptly and instead turned to Heathcliff's progression into lonely violence and longing. I felt as though the book focused on the wrong characters- Heathcliff should have definitely of had more page time. The love story between Heathcliff's son and Catherine's daughter is a replay of their parent's once vibrant love, but had fallen apart just like theirs had. It gives the reader the feeling that the inability to relate and understand each other is rooted in their genes, so the two families might never find true love despite their passion.
I debated whether or not to consider this book 'on my shelf' (would read again) or not. Through the whole story, I felt like something was missing. I could not decipher what. The author seemed to have been holding back on something in the beginning but the plot had gone wayward from her original idea, and she was no longer able to express it. This alone prevents me from giving it five stars and leaving it 'off my shelf'.

In addition to his background in science, computers, and research, Joseph obtained a Doctorate of Ministry from Battlefield Baptist Institute. He has written for various newspapers and has authored over two dozen books on subjects of theology, religion, history of Christianity, and philosophy. Dr. Lumpkin has appeared on Radio, Television, and Internet shows as a guest speaker on subjects of Fallen Angels, Church History, Religion, Theology, the Sacred Feminine, and other subjects. Falls short

The idea of taking material from so many great sources and putting it together to form a cohesive picture of what actually happened regarding the interaction of fallen angels and watchers with mankind was what made this book so attractive to me. Much of the material is accurate and if you know nothing about the subject, it could awaken you to continue researching this fantastic topic. Unfortunately, I found this book a disappointment.

The book quotes from many sources, yet there is not one footnote. Bible quotations are made without citations. There are errors made in proofreading. One serious error occurs on page 44, the author's note states that 70 generations of 500 years = 3,500 years. I believe he mean't 70 generations of 50 years = 3,500 years. Finally, in some areas, the subject and time period being discussed changes radically from paragraph to paragraph.

I have studied Scripture for 30+ years and read Enoch, Jubilees, Jasher, the lost books of the Bible and numerous other sources. In my opinion, anyone desiring to understand this topic and in turn what is driving the madness in the world today should read the original sources, starting with the the Book of Enoch. The other books mentioned above are good also but the Book of Enoch belongs in the library of every person who understands the Bible to be God's word.

In short, if you are new to the topic, this book will probably wow you. However, I recommend going right to the source and buying the Book of Enoch.

POORLY WRITTEN

Although the preface sets up an interesting precept, the combined narrative should have been trimmed and modernized, with more citations and internal analysis, to provide the book with more credibility as a scholarly work.

The book looks like it was printed off on a Macintosh inkjet printer, with plates shot from those pages, and the book thus printed (instead of typeset).

This looks almost like a self-published book, and once the author starts compiling apochrypa, it becomes very difficult to read. I'm sorry, but I can't believe that God is such a poor writer that all of his scriptures read like they were written by a third-grader.

I would rather consult books which provide the text of Enoch 1 and 2, Jasher and Jubilees, and draw my own conclusions, instead of being led by the hand by a haphazard compilation of allegedly ancient sources.

I'm sorry, but this was a very disappointing journey into poorly-written metaphysics.

An unfortunate result of self-publishing.

The book begins under the pretext of compiling historical texts into a cohesive thread, unfortunately, it is poorly edited and the writing goes from modern language to middle english and back. There are obvious errors in historical alignment and zero references. One doesn't know if the information is compiled from the book of Enoch, Genesis or John.

There is no index and it makes for a clever short story but fails in that it tells you that it compiles "histories".

Telling it like it is!

This book is a "must have" for any off-road trip to Moab. It is well written, very detailed and you can get their SD card that goes with it for your Garmin GPS, second to none. Worth every penny and more!

Amazing!

My husband and I recently purchased a side x side. We are new to the Moab trails and this book was a huge help! We went on many of the trails in the book. We found the rating system to be wonderful in selecting trails. The trail description was great and the pictures were nice too. I would recommend this book to any person who is planning on riding in Moab - whether you are in a Jeep, ATV's, motorcyces, or a UTV.

Excellent resource.

This is an excellent guide book for anyone who is interested in exploring the multitude of scenic and exciting roads and trails in the area surrounding Moab. The trail descriptions are detailed and thorough, and the intro to the book gives you a good idea of how to interpret the trail ratings. GPS waypoints for trailheads and features are useful as well. This book will help you enjoy exploring the Moab area in a 4x4 without the hassle of navigating & eliminating the countless spur and dead-end trails that spider-web the area. His website has a lot of good resources to compliment this book as well as his other books. The spiral bound edition is holding up well so far and it's seen a good bit of action already. I recommend this book to anyone who thinks they might want to see where all those roads lead - because what you find is better than you imagine!

Frank Thomas has always been one creator of Holmes/Watson pastiches that I have viewed as consistently solid products. The stories in this particular volume are strong, intriguing and all contain the sly humor and unexpected twists and terms I've come to enjoy. Being somewhat elderly and a native Californian, I chuckle at the mention of Frank Thomas being the star of Tom Corbett, Space Cadet. Ah, memories of KTLA Channel 5 so many years ago. For those contemplating any of Frank Thomas's books, get them all. You'll have a fantastic collection of crackling good stories.

I bought this book based on Frank Thomas' "Sherlock Holmes and the Golden Bird" Well, that book was a big four stars at the least. But these stories just don't measure up to the brilliance of that novel. Maybe it was the lack of using Watson's voice to tell the stories. About the Author

Robert C. Shaler’s research and professional interests focus on applying science and technology to crime scene investigation. His current research is related to identifying human and bacterial DNA in fingerprints and to quantifying the biological response to trauma and stress by analyzing postmortem blood and tissue. He has taught workshops to law enforcement on crime scene investigation, crime scene reconstruction, and bloodstain pattern analysis. He is the recipient of a U.S. patent for a novel method for developing fingerprints, a continuing project for which he recently received funding from the National Institute of Justice. He is the author of over 40 publications and chapters in four books.

A HOME Bartenders Guide to Making Cocktails like a Pro

At last, a book for the HOME Bartender! This is an excellent resource if you enjoy making cocktails at home and being your own host.

The 12 Bottles include 8 Liquors, 2 Vermouths and 2 Bitters and covers drinks with 1 Bottle (Pick Your Poision), 3 Bottles (Adding Bitters & Vermouth) and 4 Bottles (Orange Liqueur). Ice (otherwise known as Cocktail Ice) gets it's own several page section and is well worth the read. My favorite section is The Bottles. Everything you could possible want to know about each of the 12 is listed in its own section with complimentary recipes! It'll give you a new appreciation for each of them.

The books ends with Putting It All Together which includes some expanded, new virgin drinks instead of the typical ones you tend to find in bartender guides and drink books. No Shirley Temple in this one! Beer, Wine & Cider has found a place among this section as well as finishing off with Garnishs, Syrups and Liqueurs which includes a wonderful Cherry Syrup recipe.

This is the best book I've come across for people who want a good drink at home. For people who like a cocktail. For people who like food and don't make cocktails because so many home attempts are terrible (and so many restaurants/bars are about as bad). It's terrific for entertaining, from a few friends to a lot, but it's really helpful for anyone who wants to enjoy a good drink.
