Amazing! The art is amazing and the pages are thick and high quality. They have quotes from the book that the picture goes with so each coloring page is one sided which is actually really nice. And each of the pages is perforated so that they easily fold back and tear off if you wish to remove them. All the pictures are super nice. I am a huge fan of this series, it's definitely my favorite series so I was a bit worried but it's better than I could've imagined. Only negative is there is no rat Simon picture.

Lots of Clace!

Good detail! The book has scenes from Coty of Bones through City of Heavenly Fire. I wish their were more of Jonathan but most major moments are caught. The only one I wish that was in here was the final scene in Edom with Jocelyn and Clary but every other major scene is there. Lots of Clace and Malec. Not as much Sizzy or other characters but that's fine by me. The way the angels are drawn is pretty cool.

All the coloring pages are on the right side which is nice since drawlings that are front and back get wrapped in other books I have purchased.

I'm a big Mortal Instruments fan so I loved it.

Putting things in order

I have come to the age where all around me I see illness and death. I do not have a dedicated place where all my information (will, insurance, etc.)can be found. If something was to happen to me my husband and children would be lost. I guess I'm just wanting to make things easier for everyone.

This book is very helpful. It even covers what kind of burial you would like, what you would like to be said and what music should be played.
It's title really covers the gamut of everything I need to do. Now I just have to get organized enough to do it.

I recommend this book to anyone who feels a need to advise family members pertinent information regarding all aspects of your everyday life (and death): i.e. bank account numbers, passwords, retirement data, bills owed, will location, detailed description of what you would like for your impending funeral, and numerous other areas for documenting things that only you would know that would be needed by the family upon your death.

Putting Things in Order

This is the best way that I have see to make my wishes known to my family as to how I want things done after I am gone. My friend's daughter gave her a copy and she shared it with me. I told our daughter about it and she bought me one. I showed it to some friends and told my aunt about it and since then I have ordered three for gifts for them. I love the pocket pages also.

About the Author
LOUIS GIANNETTI is a Professor of English and Film at Case Western Reserve University inn Cleveland. In addition to being a professional movie reviewer for several years, he has written many scholarly articles for such journals as "Literature Film Quarterly, The Western Humanities Review," and "Film Criticism." Dr. Giannetti is also the author of the popular textbook, UNDERTANDING MOVIES, EIGHTH EDITION (Prentice Hall, 1999). Other books include a collection of theoretical essays, GODARD AND OTHERS: ESSAY ON FILM FORM (Fairleigh Dickinson University Press and Tantivy Press, 1975), and MASTERS OF THE AMERICAN CINEMA (Prentice Hall, 1981), a history of American fiction films from the perspective of eighteen major figures.

SCOTT EYMAN is the Books Editor for "The Palm Beach Post." He has won awards for his journalism, criticism, and television writing. His other books include FIVE AMERICAN CINEMATOGRAPHERS (Scarcrow Press, 1987); MARY PICKFORD: AMERICA'S SWEETHEART (Donald I. Glorified paperweight.

I wish the author would shut the hell up. He writes as if he is writing encyclopedia's. Except an encyclopedia would have been more interesting than this book and I've read many many many books on films, and just books in general. He takes 3 pages to say what he could have summed up in 3 paragraphs. It's ridiculous. According to my professor the author drives a bentley and I guess this is how he pays for it, with an obnoxiously over priced, over written, glorified, stack of what could be better used as paper played down for paint droplets. It was necessary to pass my class. Otherwise, honestly I would never recommend anyone buy this. You learn more elsewhere.

Very Lacking in Quality Information

This book is fairly useless. I purchased it for a class I am taking but find it to be only supplemental to the material in the course. The glossary is very limited and the glossary terms are not included in the index - this makes finding information not about a specific director/film nearly impossible. The one benefit of the book is the large amount of pictures included about the movies mentioned. If you do not need this book for a class then you should consider renting, or skipping it altogether, as there is not much useful information included in it.

I used this book for my History of Film class and I absolutely hated it. The writing style is terrible, the book is cluttered and unorganized. For example, some directors are described in one decade, but the authors write about the movies they made 10 or 20 years before. Some of the film descriptions feature more text about the actor than the film. The index is unusable to find anything. I was looking for Brad Pit and the index only showed two entries. After reading the whole textbook I found more entries about Brad Pit in the text that were not in the index. If you are trying to write a paper and are looking for references in the book because your professor tells you to give references to the textbook it is almost impossible to find the entries using the index because it is so terrible. You also have to go through several chapters and blurbs to find all the little references to one person or film. I hope the authors will streamline this book in the next edition and enhance the index. I could also go on and on about their selection of featured films and actors, which I found strange.

Essential to any teacher

I bought this because because every teacher needs some help working alongside parents. I have yet to have a class (undergraduate/graduate) where we have been taught how to collaborate with parents. This is not a list of what to and what to not do with parents. Instead, this book shares many personal accounts of both teachers and parents.
As I work toward my doctoral degree, I will remember this book as a text in my teacher-training classes.

This novel is a microcosm of life in the second decade of the 2000's.Addressing divorce,psychotherapy,bureaucracy and America's ever changing ethnic landscape.Peeling back layers of when the formerly well-heeled find themselves down at the heels.Much like Mr.Nunn's other novels,e.g.Tijuana Straits,the locales(Cali/Mex Border v. I love the story line of an American male getting himself in over his head. Embracing noir but not limited by it, Nun guides the reader to an exciting conclusion, but the protagonist has no guide, except a dysfunctional paramilitary under life hero, a shady antiques dealer and the classic office assistant. The hero is a sinner and the reader is a voyeur. It's a train wreck, page by page. Dr. Chance, who you might catch yourself thinking is a hapless detective rather than a nueropsychiatrist, lets himself descend into a bottomless pit, populated by evil characters, and in a twist that achieves some kind of grandeur, the anti-hero Blackstone surprises us all. This is a good story well told. It's not a work of location fiction, as were Dogs of Winter and even Tijuana Straights, but the characters are superb.

Not one I would recommend

I'm kind of blown away by all of the five star reviews on here. My reaction to CHANCE was basically, "meh". I came close to not finishing it, and its definitely not one I would recommend to a friend. I gave it three stars, because even though I didn't really love the story, Kem Nunn is obviously a talented writer. Much like his other books, the characters are fascinating and I love how bits of them are revealed over the course of the story. The characters of Dr. Chance and Big D in particular are what kept me going through this book. Every time I was ready to bail out, something would happen with those two that kept me reading.

I just read TAPPING THE SOURCE a week or two ago, and that book truly was a five star novel from start to finish. Maybe reading them back to back, I was more disappointed by CHANCE than some other readers.

So what specifically didn't I like about the book? For starters, just from my personal taste, there are three plot devices that I hate: time travel, amnesia and split personalities. This book unfortunately involves the last one, and I'm not sure what it really adds to the story. My bigger criticism though is that the story just seemed to go out of focus so much. There is a pretty clear and sometimes interesting plot in here involving a misguided love interest and a dangerous bad cop/husband. I think if the book had stayed with that story more clearly it would have been more enjoyable. Instead it strays at times into musings or events happen in unclear ways.

Anyway, its not a bad book, but in all honesty I've read many better novels lately, and this isn't one I would be quick to recommend to anyone.

An excellent book on Japanese Internment Camps

If you're writing a paper on Japanese Internment Camps, this book is really good. It superbly defines the generation gap of Japanese-Americans during the 1940's. In addition, the foreward to this book is well-written and very helpful. This book helps show what happened to the Japanese during World War 2.
